But, did you know the first guitars were Spanish? They were used for the first time in Malaga in the 15th century. They were small, with for pairs of strings and a wonderful sound. They were especially popular among poor people. And they were first used in a classical music concert by Andrés Segovia, in 1913. The audience loved it, and guitars became famous all over the world.

In the 20th century, around 1940, a new guitar was popular- the electric guitar! It made a loud sound and it was used for many types of music: rock, jazz, pop, heavy metal … . The most famous player of electric guitars was Jimi Hendrix. His music was different, and the electric guitar was not so different from the first classical guitars!
